About Us

Welcome To Our Norita's World

Several years ago on a birding trip we observed something besides birds! That's pretty amazing for birders! Well, what we saw were situations where occasionally a few terrific senior birders sat back while the "young bucks" scrambled some pretty tough terrain, spending hours from pre-dawn till after dark happily in "pursuit" of prized species. The seniors didn't complain, but because they just couldn't keep up that kind of pace, they walked the delightful trails near the lodge, viewing and studying the lovely birds near at hand.

In the meantime, we were learning that there were nearby locations where there were pockets of many of these same prized species that could be accessed by vehicle. The birds could easily be seen without walking over a mile! So an idea was born, a birding tour service for senior birders, with everything planned specifically for easy and comfortable access to birds in some of the most beautiful country in North and Central America.

Since then we have been privileged to bird with some of the finest birders and most delightful people we have ever met. We have seen amazing numbers of species more easily than most could imagine. But you see, that is how we view every birding location. Where are the most wonderful birds concentrated in the most accessible and easily reached locations? Find out how we do it.

In addition to birdwatching skills, your guides have other special areas of knowledge. These include:

  • Avian taxonomy
  • Astronomy
  • Local geology
  • Whale watching
  • Local geology
  • History

For all pelagic trips, we use only commercially licensed skippers and watercraft equipped with state-of-the-art navigational equipment. In areas where we think the results for our participants would be enhanced, we are proud to provide a local guide who is familiar on a day-to-day basis with where the birds we want to see are most likely to be found.

(tongue-in-cheek) : We are birders who like to photograph birds, not photographers who like to watch birds! So the quality of the photos is certainly not up to the standards of, say, National Geographic or Birder's World. However, we do support the film industry, trying for better quality pictures with each trip!
